How do I remove my access from only certain shared folders?

How do I remove my access from only certain shared folders?

Someone shared a folder with me, that has a lot of subfolders, and now all my Dropbox storage is used up. Without deleting these subfolders for the owner of the main folder, I would like to remove my access to certain subfolders so I have more storage space. How do I do this?

This is with a basic account.

I'm afraid you cannot.

You are either a member of a share or not - you cannot unsubscribe from subfolders.

Hey there @tenmillionfireflies, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!

I'm afraid Mark is correct here as you can't explicitly remove your access from sub-folders or delete them without affecting the other members of the parent shared folder.

If you don't want this shared folder taking up space towards your account's quota, you can ask the original owner to send you a shared link instead.

I hope this helps!
