How do I remove the "My PC" folder from my Dropbox?

New member | Level 2

I cannot get rid of the My PC folder on my Dropbox, which has exceeded the amount of space I have on Dropbox Basic. I do not want the files from my computer in my Dropbox account. I did not check a box saying that was okay, I was not asked if I wanted that to happen in the installation of DB on my computer and I cannot get rid of it.

I do not have the icon the articles and other answers are talking about on my PC version of Dropbox. I cannot access My Preferences anywhere but in the settings in Dropbox online and there is no syncing or back-up preference to uncheck! At this point I am downloading all of my Dropbox files so I can kill my Dropbox account and get a new cloud account elsewhere. This is fcuked.

Hi @FcukDragon; thanks for joining our Community and sorry to hear about this.

As we have a dedicated Help Center article about the computer backup feature, I'd suggest that you started from there:

https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/sync-uploads/computer-backup

If you can't find the app's icon within your computer's system tray (or menu bar for Macs), you may need to re-install it.

Keep me posted anyhow.
