How do I replace an PDF file but keep the same existing link?

I thought this was possible by keeping the same name but it shows that the file is deleted instead of replacing it.

This isn't a Dropbox issue. It depends on the application you're using to save the PDF file. While most applications will overwrite an existing file when saving, preserving the link, some applications will first delete the existing file and then write the new file. In those cases, Dropbox sees the deletion and the link will no longer be valid.

If your PDF application is deleting the original while saving, you can save the file to a different location and then move or copy it to the folder it's supposed to be in (or upload it using the Dropbox website) and it should overwrite the existing copy.

Hi there, I am a bit unclear, I am uploading the new PDF file directly into Dropbox and rewriting the name to be the same, but when I do it creates a new link and the old link says it is deleted. Can you please clarify?
