How to delete a shared folder that still shows up on my desktop after access is removed?

New member | Level 2

How can I delete a shared folder that still shows up on my desktop, even after my access has been removed?

Can I simply move it to trash without it deleting for other users of the shared folder?

Dropboxer

Hello there @bb91, thanks for checking in with us.

In general, if your access has been removed from a shared folder but you still see it in your account, it could be that the owner left you a copy of it.

Having said that, could you:

  • Check if you can see the folder in question via the website?
  • Let me know what comes up when you hover over the Dropbox icon that's next to your computer's clock?
  • Send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of what the folder looks like?

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
