Is there a way to save a file to dropbox without saving it to a folder?
Hi there @bigadorf, thanks for posting here.
In general, for files to be uploaded to your Dropbox account, they have to be added either to via your local Dropbox folder, the desktop app, the mobile app, or the website.
Would you like to sync a file that's outside of the Dropbox folder by any chance?
Let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Cheers!

I apparently did not communicate my question correctly. When I upload a file to Dropbox, my options of where to save the upload seems to be only to a folder and not just the "general" Dropbox file menu
I see, thanks for clarifying that for me!
Are you using the website, the desktop app, or the mobile app to upload your files?
A screenshot of the options you get would also be super helpful, just to have a better visual of it.
