Is there a way to see the actual size of local drop folders - I use selective sync and the tool GetFolderSize but this shows the full size of the file (even if it is just a dropbox placeholder) - I have 3TB of Dropbox Storage and a 1TB hard drive and I can't see which folders are taking up the most space.
Hi there @RobertCroydon, thanks for dropping by.
You mention that you use selective sync but also that the files leave a placeholder behind.
The latter that you're referring to is Smart Sync, which reduces the amount of storage a file takes up on your hard drive.
Selective sync on the other hand removes whole folders completely, to save storage.
In any case, the easiest way to do this is to check the size of files and calculate the folders' size from the website.
Ideally, would you like to be able to see the actual size of files being reported locally, even if they are Smart Synced or selectively synced?
Keep me in the loop, thanks!

I don't want to go back and forth between the dropbox website and my local machine to do calculations.
If I have a folder which has some files that are local and some that are cloud only (as per image below), I can only see the folder size within windows 10 as if ALL the files are local. Not based on the actuall amount of disk space they are taking up.
Thanks for the screenshot @RobertCroydon!
If you right click the folder and go to the "Properties", it should show you the size the files take on the disk, and the size of the actual files.
In this case, the "Size on disk" would show the amount of space the folder is using on your computer.
Is this what you're looking for?
