How to stop Dropbox files set to Smart Sync from taking up storage space on a Mac

Re: Mac storage full despite all fixes

Hi again @Lori , attached is the additional requested screenshot.

Also, I suggest you remove the "Solved" from this thread. This issue clearly is not solved for all of the people who have continually been posting about this despite trying the fixes provided.

Thank youScreen Shot 2021-05-28 at 12.44.34 PM.png

I have the same problem here. Cache cleared, all Dropbox Files checked as Online Only but the Mac is still keeping all the spaces of these files occupied. Impossible to work, as I have 2TB in dropbox but my computer is only 0,5TB.

Same. Cache cleared, and I just saved a couple of gigs.

This only cleared a couple of gigs of cache but the Mac is still counting terabytes of files that are "online only"

Hi, this solve didn't work for me. I have everything set to "Online Only" and I toggled the Smart Sync update for Mac. It's a huge problem, as now I'm down to only 1.79GB available on my hard drive and can't complete simple tasks for work.

Please help!

Hi @Lori , do you have any updates for us?  I supplied the additional information you requested. Clearly this problem is widespread. Please advise. Thank you.
