How to stop Dropbox files set to Smart Sync from taking up storage space on a Mac

Re: Smart sync - specific files still retained on local disk

Dear sir/miss, I've tried everything (including https://help.dropbox.com/accounts-billing/space-storage/low-disk-space) but still the issue remains. Even after restarting Dropbox and Mac several times. Hope you can help me out. Best, Merlin

Would it be okay for me to reach out via email, so we can have a closer look into this?

Let me know.

But there’s loads of us with this issue. You can’t just help two people. Can you not just fix it? Please?
