How to stop someone inviting you to view files?

How to stop someone inviting you to view files?

Hey guys,

I’ve recently been inundated with unwanted content from someone via Dropbox - not sure how they got my email address but they have. Is there a way to ‘block’ this person? Can I disable invite requests from just them?

Hi there @Lauren27, thanks for posting!

If you don't know who this person is that's sharing files with you, it's possible that this could be a phishing attempt.

Can you check the email address that the notification is coming from, and see if it's from an official Dropbox domain?

I'd suggest making sure to click the contact info to view the email address fully, but please make sure not to click on any links within the email itself, just to be on the safe side.

Let me know what you find!

Hi Daphne!

Unfortunately I do know who the person is - and the photos are obviously of him and from him. They show up even without clicking links in my Dropbox app and on the desktop site and the emails are definitely legit. Any ideas what I can do to stop it?

Thanks for getting back to me here @Lauren27.

Since you're seeing this within your Dropbox account, it sounds like it might be a shared folder, is that right?

In this case, you can remove the folder from your account by simply deleting the folder, or removing your access to the folder. You can check out the exact steps here.

Let's see if that does the trick!
