How to turn an folder from online only to local?

New member | Level 2

Hello,

I am trying to sync folders on my dropbox to my local harddrive. I turned off the smart sync and chose 'local' by default. But when I try to sync a folder by using selective sync today, it only allows me to make that folder online only. I am pretty sure I have enough space. Here is a screenshot of the dialogue window. Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks!

RK

Hi @Mouse0005, thanks for messaging today!

These are two different features that you're seeing here. Smart Sync allows you to see the file structure while having files take up no space on your machine. Selective sync prevents entire folders from syncing to your machine.

Therefore, the message you're seeing there means that the local folder would be deleted entirely, and can only be accessed via the site. If you want all your files to be local, make sure that all folders are selected.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
