I am missing some files after reinstalling my desktop app

Explorer | Level 3

I reinstalled my windows, then downloaded dropbox and some files, especially pdf disappeared. It's written that I didn't have enough space but I did before reinstallation
How can I get my files back?

Hi there @KatePoronkina

Welcome to the Dropbox Community! Let's see what we can do here.

As a first step, could you provide me with some additional info? For example:

  • How did you add those files to your Dropbox account? Was it through the website or the desktop app?
  • Do you see any info regarding these files in your events page by any chance?

Let me know what you find!

It was through the desktop app (The problem was that I got enough space due to the 12GB-dropbox-year-present then I had to reinstalled my windows completly, I downloaded the dropbox, loged in and it gave me 2-basic-GB without the last files that I moved or put in, them I got again the 12GB-dropbox-year-present but the files did't reveal)
I didn't find any info regarding this problem

Thanks for the additional info, @KatePoronkina!

It sounds like the files may be in a different account.

Since each Dropbox account is connected to a unique email address, you may have a second account associated with a different email than the one your additional space is in.

You can check which email is connected to your Dropbox account from:

Let me know how it goes!

Hmm. Could you please just double-check the inbox of any other email address that you may have and see if you have any message from us?

Let me know if there are any or none, and I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!

Thanks for checking that out for me, @KatePoronkina

I've followed up with an email to have a look into this a bit more in depth.

Please check your email that's associated with your Community profile for my latest message and we'll take it from there.

Cheers!
