First a prompt pops up saying I have to authorize the delte. Then another window says, "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items."
But why are the files still on my laptop? Please help, I would like to delete these files.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, you mentioned the the files are from someone else's Dropbox. Are you referring to a shared folder?
If you try deleting the items from your account online, can you delete the files from there?
Let me know and we can go from there!
