I can't open encrypted MS Word files on Dropbox iPhone App any longer- since last iOS update

New member | Level 2

The last iOS update to my iphone, when I try to put in the password for my MS word document, it returns the screen that says "Decryption failed" (Null). This has worked for many years.

This is not a Dropbox issue. It's caused by the iOS 14.2 update that was released recently.

I have the same problem.  I can't open a password protected document - either Excel or Word - on my iPhone or iPad.  I can open it on my computer, however, which is not an Apple product.

Password protected Word file

For years I have stored a password protected MS Word v. 16 file in Dropbox and never had any problem opening it - I would be prompted for the password, I'd enter it and the file would open.  Recently, I can no longer access that file from my iPhone.  When I select it it prompts me for the password, which I enter, then this message is returned:

Decryption failed.

(null)

There is not a problem on my Mac.

Anyone else have this problem?
