I create a link for a file but a few days later it vanishes. Any help?

When I want to share a file and Create a link it works fine, but a few days later the link vanishes and i have to make a new one. I have NOT checked for the link to expire. Happens to many files but not all. It is random. I have to go in and creae a new link again. IT is annoying and mysterious. Noone else is deleting the links.

Is the file that the link is for perhaps being deleted and replaced? A shared link will be broken when a file is deleted in Dropbox.
