I deleted files but didn't know they'd be deleted from my computer

Explorer | Level 3

I did not realized that dropbox would move all my files to online.  I deleted them from drop box  without knowing that I would not have them on my acutal computer any longer.  Can I get them back?

Hi @Spartan Shade, thanks for messaging the Community.

I'm sorry to hear about your deleted files. As you've discovered, any deletions to files would sync from the Dropbox site to any connected device, and vice versa.

If the files were deleted within the last 30 days, you should be able to recover them from this page

Keep me updated with any progress!

It has been more than 30days.  I really need to get these back ASAP.

Re: deleted files

Help is there any way to get my files back.  It has been more than 30 days.  Dropbox sucks.  How can it just take the files off your computer?  I didnt even realize this had happened.  I downloaded it due to anyother company needing to send me files.  It seems that my files were deleted on November 18th and permittedly deleted on Dec 18th.  How is this possible?  How can it remove all my files from my computer?  Then you can't get a person on the phone, please help me get my files back.

I need someone to help me get my files back.  There isn't a number to call unless you pay to use the service.  I really need my files.

I understand your frustration over this matter. Currently, we only provide phone support for team admins of Dropbox Business subscriptions.

If the files were deleted over 30 days ago, and you're not able to see them on the deleted files page, then it wouldn't be possible to recover them, as it would be outside the restoration period. Even our support team wouldn't be able to do so.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. As it won't be possible to recover it from the Dropbox site, it might be possible to recover the files from the local machine from the recycle bin, or using a third party app or service to do so.
