I deleted some files but my account still says that it's full and not syncing

I deleted some files but my account still says that it's full and not syncing

I received a message that my dropbox was almost full...so I deleted a bunch of old files and now I get messages that my dropbox is full and no longer syncing. 

What am I doing wrong?

Hello @swoo, let's see what we can find on this together. 

 

You are right, removing files is one way to save space. 

 

Could you have a look at your Plan tab though to see what is taking up storage? 

 

Is it your personal/regular files, or could it be content in shared folders that you're a part of?

Thank you!!  It looks like it might have taken a bit of time to recognize that personal files had been deleted.  Do you know how to delete shared files that someone shares with you?

Sure thing, @swoo!

 

If you don't want to be a part of a shared folder or file anymore, you can remove it (temporarily or permanently) without deleting any of the contents for other members, by following these steps
