I don't see any way to lock a file

Good afternoon,

My organization supposedly has a business drop box.  However, when I want to set up locking of that file, like I found in so many posts (https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/share/file-locking), I don't see the capability to lock said file.

What am I missing?

Good afternoon @lhiggie, I’ll do my best to follow-up on your question! 
 
You may not be able to access the feature yet because your team admin hasn’t enrolled your team to try it.
 
In case they’re interested in checking this functionality for your organization, they could easily enable that though the Early Access tab on their admin console settings. 
 
Hopefully my message points you towards the right direction. If you enable the feature, please let me know of your thoughts & feedback!

Hi There.
I have admin access to the drop box console. Now before Christmas within early access this feature was available however after confirming with the company to role out the early access feature for locking had been removed. Is there any way of knowing when the full version will be released?

Hi @BilalAyub94 - welcome to our Community!

I just tried to reproduce here on my end and I don't get the same results as I'm still seeing the option to lock files from editing. 

Can you double-check that you're looking at the correct account and let me know what you find?

Hi Walter

Thank you for your response.
I've signed into the Admin console and done the following.

Admin console - settings - Early Access
I can only see the following features available:
Image Search
Dropbox Rewind
Smart Sync

Admin console - settings - content
I can only see the following features available:
Top-level editing
Member space Limit
Sync
Sharing
Deletion
Commenting
Viewer Info.

Any ideas as to why the locking feature isn't available?

I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Can you try this link directly from an account that's an admin of the team in question and let me know if you see the option for 'File locking' there?

If you don't see it at all, we'll have to look into this with account specific information so please let me know if you'd like me to reach out to the email address that's connected to your Community's profile to work on this together.

Hi again @BilalAyub94; how are you today? Do you have any updates on the matter?

From my side, I just wanted to let you know that our 'File Locking' feature has moved from its beta period and is gradually rolling out to all of our Business users so it might take a little while before you can access the feature. 

In any case, please let me know how you get on.
