This, if it reaches anyone, this to highlight that the synch speed issue is alive, real, and not at all solved. Currently, I have 492,867 files being synched. 182,556 are 'indexing.' 310,051 are 'downloading.' This synch has been runing for over a day now. It looks like things go forward at about 100 files a minute, or less. There is nothing 'broken,' just slow.
My thought, it's time for Dropbox to own this issue and admit their software throttles their customer's data if you do anything that needs large numbers of files moved (like a new computer).
Hey @RichardMoresby, kindly note that we usually advise storing no more than 300,000 files on a given device to ensure an optimal performance, so if I were in you shoes, I’d adjust my Selective Sync settings &/or utilize Smart Sync for files I’m not using regularly.
If you don’t see any progress after giving my suggestions a go, I’d appreciate a screenshot(omitting personal info) of the Dropbox syncing Status as you can see it when hovering your mouse over the Dropbox icon on your menu bar/ system tray. This would point us towards the best next steps; please include it in your next message if possible.
Thanks for taking the time to try my suggestions & clarify matters for me; I'll be awaiting to hearing back from you with your findings here Richard!
