I am the owner of a Dropbox folder but have lost the access to edit. I can only "comment."
I need to regain access.
Anybody know how?
Hey @Dan B.50, let's see what we can do here.
Could you first find the shared folder in question from the Files tab online, click on the Share button that's on the right-hand side of it, and check to see if there is an owner listed?
Have a look through and let me know of any updates. Thanks!

Thanks for responding.
Yes, I have checked that. It lists me as owner.
However, I have suddenly lost the ability to edit — I can only comment.
I need to correct that ASAP.
Are you by any chance only previewing the file or have you tried opening it using the relevant third party app?
If you have the desktop app installed, try editing it locally as well.
A screenshot (without any personal info) of the Share pop up would also be super helpful.

I am merely accessing Dropbox via the internet as I've always done.
It's always worked. It's worked for years.
Now, suddenly, I now longer have the ability to edit folders — except for camera downloads.
Fortunately, I can still get into that.
So what's going on?
Hi @Dan B.50!
Would you mind sending me a screenshot of what you see when you're only able to comment on the file?
Also, since you're using the website, are you just clicking the file name, or do you then also click the "Open" option in the top right to open the file in the relevant app?
Keep us posted!
