I was sent a new file but I can only locate a version from 2017, why is that?

I am a newbie to this and am taking online classes. My teacher has sent a new dropbox file for Chapter 5 to us.  I have refreshed, ceared my cache and even shut down and restarted my computer. I can't seem to locate it- the only update for Chapter 5 is 2017. What am I doing wrong?

Can you just clarify for me, how are files being shared with you?

For example, do you have a shared folder that the teacher is adding the content to? Or do you have a link to access the files?

Let me know and we can go from there!
