I was shared a folder from a client via a shared link. Can I add it to my account?

Dear,

from one of our suppliers we received a link to a dropbox shared folder.. something like this :

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e12omepu....../AABVkJzzzzz-dxDvjrEIzYa?dl=0 (i have changed the link for security reasons)

i have two questions :

- can i make this link visible on my dropbox account ?

- can i make this share folder visible in windows ?

Thank you

Filip

Hi there @Filip V, thanks for checking in with us.

Since shared links don't take up any of your account's space, they aren't visible by default in your Dropbox account, like a file or a folder is.

If you want to have the contents of the shared link, you can try downloading them directly to your Dropbox account. If you have the desktop app installed, these will also be then visible locally in your Dropbox folder in File Explorer/Finder.

However, note that the files you download will be separate from the ones in the shared link, meaning that any changes you make to them won't be shown to others who have access to the link.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
