If I delete the app, will I lose my local Dropbox files?

If I delete the app, will I lose my local Dropbox files?

Hello,

1. I want to quit Dropbox but keep the files that I have on my mac. It has a green circle (green background) and white verify mark. Im not sure if I log out and quit, will all my files delete or will they stay in there?

2. And what if a folder is synchronizing, can I still logout and it will be there or?

Please help me, I really need this as soon as possible! ASAP!

Thanks a lot ❤️

Hi @Milatsky, thanks for joining the Community!

If you uninstall the Dropbox desktop application, nothing will happen to your files on your machine.

What should happen is that the Dropbox folder won't be visible in the sidebar in Explorer/Finder, but the Dropbox folder itself should still be in the location you save it in.

Any files you see on the machine with a green tick would still be there for you to use as normal.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!
