Hello all!

I am writing and constantly updating a word document. It is saved on my Dropbox desktop app so I can access it on my other computers.

I am wondering if I continue to write on and save the document while OFFLINE (without WiFi) is the document updating/saving itself on the dropbox app? Or can it only be saved/updated with an internet connection?

My cable just went out. Wondering if I can continue writing without moving the document from the Dropbox folder.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @ryweatrow, thanks for joining the Community!

If your file is stored in the Dropbox folder, and there is no internet, then you can edit and save files on your machine using the local Word app like you would with any other docx file.

However, the files will only sync when the app is online again. This means you'll lose out on any versions you might have saved in the meantime, so only the most recent save would appear on the site.

If you need any more details, feel free to message back!
