I upgraded my macOS to Big Sur a few hours ago and I noticed that all my Dropbox images stored online weren’t showing their thumbnails anymore.
I tried to restart Finder, re-install Dropbox, run disk repair, reboot and other things, but none worked.
If I download the image, I can see the thumbnail after restart the Finder. But if I sync the image to online and restart the Finder, the thumbnail disappear again. These were working until the Big Sur upgrade.
The Dropbox it’s not working as should be with Big Sur?
Best,
same issue on Big Sur 11.0.1 + Dropbox 110.3.425 --> no more SmartSync online files previews/thumbnails

Thanks Walter.
I'll be waiting for the Dropbox fix.
Just let me know when was done.
Best,
For me it's even worst.
After updating with Big Sur, the Dropbox App doesn't sync anymore.
I click on the App but nothing happens. No error signal. Just not working.
Please keep us informed when solved.
Thanks
Same here app not working at all. Updated to Big Sur yesterday on my older Macbook early 2016 with the 1,2 Ghz Dual Core Intel m5 processor. Everything worked like a charm so decided to also update my Macbook Pro 2019 with the 2,3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9. With the result described above quite frustrated with Dropbox (been a client for many years) Tried the Beta build 101.3.422 fix proposed on some forums. Works for a minute but then the impossible to turn off Dropbox auto update seems to overwrite the Beta version and ruin it again...
Good night, how are you?
I saw that there is new beta release.
This beta fix this preview issue?
Best,
I contacted Dropbox Support via the chat. They adviced me to do a complete reinstall to fix the problem. This does not affect or remove the files in the dropbox folder. Will take writing some commands in your TERMINAL app but works like a charm.

I am also having the same issues. No preview image of online only files, no dropbox button in finder although Smart Sync is available on a file by file basis.
Additionally I can't launch the DB desktop app.
@peetersooms
I try to reinstall the Dropbox rigth now, I restarted the Finder, and still not working the file preview for online files.
