Is there a way for me to check sharing history for a Dropbox folder?

Someone shared access to one of my shared docs. The document should always have 6 users total including myself and for a period of time today there were 7. I was able to get a screenshot of this but by the time I clicked on the users, it was back to 6. Are details of this retrievable?

Great question @AB2020. I completely understand your concern.

Dropbox Business teams can find this information checking their activity tab. If you have a personal Dropbox account and the folder is unshared already, there is not really a way to see members that it is not shared with anymore.

But I am sure you need the following steps to prevent this from happening again.

How to prevent members from inviting other people to your folders.

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click Files.
  3. Navigate to or search for the shared folder you’re interested in.
  4. Hover over the folder and click Share.
  5. Click the settings icon (gear icon).
  6. Select your preferences using the dropdown next to Manage access.
  7. Click Save
