Issues with stopping backup of folder to regain space

When I set up my DP account I did not notice that DP started to backup my music and movies (I'm on a Mac). Obviously my DP account got full and syncing stopped. Now when I want to stop the backup I go to the DB setting on my Mac then Backups/Manage Backup and deselect the folders I don't want to backup.

I then click Save, choose Keep content in folders on this Mac, then I get this screen...Screenshot 2021-03-03 at 14.45.51.png

 

 

It just hangs there and nothing happens. If I try to do it again the two folders are marked again.

 

As they are syncing I can not delete them

Is this an app issue or just me doing something I should not do?

 

Any help would be much appreciated

From the error you're getting there, it looks like the sync is paused @Structurer.

Can you check to see if this is the case? If you're not sure, you can pause/resume syncing with these steps.

Once you've ensured that syncing has resumed, can you try the steps again?

I'd suggest not to uninstall the app at the moment as this will mean that we will need to rectify this manually instead of automatically through the app settings.

Hey @Structurer, let's see what we can do here. 

Are you getting a similar issue when you resume syncing and try to turn off computer backup?

If you are, could you let me know if you get a similar error message?

Hi Lusil

I go to the DB preferences/Backups/Manage Backups and deselect all. 

Still I am not able to delete it on the DB side

If I then go back to DB preferences/Backups/Manage Backups they are all checked again

Would a de-install/re-install solve this?

Hi

 

I turned on syncing (even if my account was over the limit). Then I could de-select the two folders and once that finished then delete them in DropBox..
