Dropbox files & folders

There are a bunch of files that were deleted some time ago by my student teacher (or did not sync properly) and are now missing. I cannot recall the name of the leading folder where all nested folders/files would be saved.
One of the files included "2016-12-15_Chapter 5 HEREDITY NOTES.docx". That is the likely file that will identify the root folder of which I am missing.
I do not see anything in my dashboard showing recent activity for these files/folders.
If there is any way to recover that root folder, I (and my students) would be so grateful.
Please advise.

Thanks, Walter.
There are no Events or Deleted Files that help this situation.
After further investigation, there was a folder titled, "Classroom" that was lost/compromised, at a time that I cannot confirm.
Any other suggestions would be extremely appreciated.

Walter,
The "Shared" tab doesn't have what I lost. I was the owner who had a user (student teacher) with R/W access. She must have deleted the folder (on her side) and I never noticed within the 30-day window.
There were years of curricular work lost.
