Missing "View in Finder" in Dropbox helper search functionality

Helpful | Level 5

Hello y'all,

So this is strange. I depend on the search box in Dropbox because of its relative speediness to Apple's Spotlight. I'm not sure but for some reason, on the last day or so, the "View in Finder" dropdown was removed, driving all Dropbox search results to the dropbox website. The challenge with this is that I can't instantly reference a file on my computer. The web interface also doesn't permit opening in Finder. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I have checked my settings and the "Open folders in" setting is set to Finder. When I try to double-click on a folder, it opens on the Web. There is no Finder option anywhere. Any advice on how to fix this?

Dropbox client: v100.3.400

Mac OS X Catalina 10.15.5

Ah, I solved my own problem. Learned something new. My Dropbox folder is on an external drive. The drive was not mounted at the time. As a result, Dropbox search still worked but linked to the website. Once I restarted Dropbox after my drive mounted, the app kicked back in and gave me my "View Finder" option on right click.

I do still wish I could double click on a folder without opening it in the dropbox folder, going straight to finder instead. But alas, that's a feature request, not a bug Updated: Oh wow, ok, so dropbox now lets me double click on the files and go straight to finder. Magic. I'm a happy camper.

Thanks Dropbox for killin' it, over 10 years strong.
