Moving files WITHIN DropBox to another folder in Dropbox

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

If you are viewing files while looking at the the list *on the HOME page*, that is NOT where you transfer the files to another folder.  You have to click on "All files" on the left bar, find the main folder where the file you want to move is located, locate that file to be moved to another folder *within dropbox*, click on the three horizontal circles box to the right of that file, scroll to "move", select the dropbox folder you want to move it too.

HINT:  If you have uploaded a file from an app on your phone, then the file will be within the "Apps" folder on Dropbox.  There can be several differently-named-apps that ALL save in the "Apps" folder, so you'll have to look for the name of the app you are saving from your phone to dropbox to locate the files you've saved within that app.Print screen examplePrint screen exampleI've attached a picture related to the first paragraph

Hi @Jeanie A,

At the beginning the "Apps" folder is designated to keep application internal data and usually you should not need access them directly. Of course, application implementation depends on corresponding provider and this provider isn't obligated to follow any conceptions, if he doesn't want to. Application generally should not store shared data (shared to other application(s), not to other instances of the same application) in private folder. Such behavior could be considered as corresponding application's bug. You can signal to the supplier.

As a workaround you can "jump" to the corresponding folder directly, using "View in folder" entry in corresponding ellipsis menu:

Hope this helps.
