Moving or limiting folders on android ---- NEEDED

CarlC451 New member | Level 2

Android Tablets have VERY limited main storage.

Even a small DB account swaps them.

1. How can I flag SOME Folders to not populate or update.

2. How can I move / recreate the DB Folders on the SD Card.

3. ANY other hacks that might solve the problem.

While taking pictures of the storage screens, I stumbled upon the SD Card page.

It offered 2 FORMAT options (for an already mounted as external card).

One was FORMAT AS INTERNAL STORAGE.

Since almost nothing had loaded on the SD, I selected the Erase And Reformat option.

It seems to be synching - - - and using the SD space - - - and not complaining about running out of space - - -but it is going Oh, So Slow!

And, since the new minimum billing has been implimented - - - I may not be staying past my renewal date.

Thank you for the assistance.  Greatly appreciated.

Hi there @CarlC451, I hope you're well today!

The mobile app for your tablet allows you to look at your files without having them locally on your device, similar to how you view your files on the website.

However, you can make files "available offline" which would take space on your device's storage. You would need to manually apply this setting to your files though.

Can you let me know if you have the app installed and see it taking space on your device? If so, can you send me a screenshot of where you see this?

Let me know and we'll go from there!

Thanks for getting back to me here @CarlC451!

I'm glad to hear you're up and running, albeit somewhat slowly.

I'd just like to clarify with you though since you mentioned that you're syncing your files. Do you have the Android Dropbox app installed on your tablet?

Can you let me know what version of Dropbox you have installed, and where you installed it from (Play store or from the Dropbox website)?

As I mentioned, the mobile apps won't sync to your device the same way that the desktop app does, so I'm curious as to exactly what you're referring to. This way, I can try assist you with the issue that you're having with speed.

Keep me posted!
