Must change file name for edits to show in Word for iphone

Must change file name for edits to show in Word for iphone

This might be a IOS Word problem. I'll edit a file in IOS Word and it will save to dropbox fine (I can see the changes in the IOS Dropbox as well as on my laptop). But, if I edit a file in Word on my Laptop and save it to Dropbox, I can see the changes live in IOS Dropbox but then when I choose to open that file in IOS Word, the changes don't show up. The only way I can get them to show the most recent changes on IOS Word is if I then go into IOS Dropbox (or laptop, doesn't matter), change file name, and choose open in IOS Word at that point. I've tried removing the files from recent in IOS Word, and deleting/reinstalling the apps. Any suggestions?

Hi there @boldlygoborg, thanks for checking in with us.

Out of curiosity, when you make changed through your laptop, do those come up on the website?

If you go through the file's version history online, do you see any recent record of those edits?

Have a look and let me know what you find, thanks!

Yes. I have records of desktop and mobile edits that align.

Could you make sure that both the desktop and mobile apps are up to date?

Do you have any pending updates on your mobile device by any chance?

Dropbox mobile and word mobile are up to date. I can’t tell on Dropbox desktop if the latest version is installed. How do I see that?

Hi @boldlygoborg, most likely this is a Microsoft issue, as noted in my post here

I'd recommend getting in contact with them for further assistance on this matter.
