My Audacity aup files are missing, why?

I recently deleted my dropbox account and have lost a lot of files from my laptop even though it said I wouldn't ...

All my audacity aup files disappeared from my audacity folder on my laptop.

any ideas ???

I'm sorry to hear about the missing files, Was the Audacity folder located in the Dropbox folder, or another location?

Are you able to locate any deleted files to recover, or any events which might show if they were moved?

The audacity folder was in my documents but I think dropbox was syncing all folders n files.

Some word docs disappeared also .. v strange.

Ive given up onit as the files are just gone and because I was on the free package no email support... I did do the online chat but that person  said contact support.....

Did you delete your Dropbox account completely, or just uninstall the Dropbox desktop application?

Were you able to find any files in the locations I mentioned previously?
