My Selective Sync settings wouldn't update for 24 hours. Why & what should I do?

Hi! I've been using selective synchronisation but some errors ich selective synchrobisation occured. Due to the lack of space on my computer I decided to turn off synchrobisation of all folders and organise selective synchro again. But the computer (Macbok Pro) is keeping updating selective synchro for more than 24 hours. How can I fix that?

Already tried:

- stop droppox

- restart computer

- uninstall dropbox and install again

Result is still the same.

Pls Help

Best

Kasia

Dear Jane, many thanks for your detailed description. In the meantime I executed all of these steps. At this moment evetything is updated. The reason was not enough space for updates, so I had to delete or move the bigghest files and folders.

Best, Kasia

Hey @KasiaHela, thanks for taking the time to work on that on your end & for your in-depth explanation!

From what I gather from your description, it looks like your Selective Sync settings wouldn’t stick, so your troubleshooting has been spot on so far. Moving forward, I’d suggest giving our latest Offline installer a try after disabling your Antivirus/Firewall:

Spoiler
  • Stop Dropbox (if needed) by clicking the Dropbox icon in the menu bar on the top of your screen. >Click on the gear icon in the Notifications panel and select "Quit Dropbox".
  • Delete the Dropbox application from the Applications folder. You may need to provide your computer password in order to perform this action.
  • Reinstall the Dropbox desktop application following these steps:
  • Open the Dropbox .dmg file and double click the Dropbox icon. Dropbox should appear in your menu bar.
Once you get a chance to get going with that Kasia, please do let me know of the outcome here & I’ll do my best to follow-up with you. Otherwise, please let me know if I've misunderstood your inquiry in any way, so as to follow a different route. Have a wonderful rest of your day until we talk again!
