My files were uploaded to Dropbox and I want to delete my account

New member | Level 2

Hi, I have synced Dropbox to my computer and now all my files appear to be in my Dropbox.
I would like to delete my Dropbox account. Will this mean that my computer files to be deleted?
I’m a bit confused

Re: Deleting dropbox

Dropboxer

Hey @Yourbestdayever, thanks for checking in with us.

At first, if you find that computer folders (such as your Documents, Downloads, and Desktop) were added to your Dropbox folder, don't delete the folders or the account itself.

Instead, turn the computer backup feature off and then move the files back to their original locations.

Once you do that, you can then delete your Dropbox account, if you still want to.

You can find the relevant steps and what happens when you delete your account, here

Let me know if you have any other questions, cheers!
