My files won't stay in order when shared

Why won't my files stay in the order I put them in before sharing?  I need the newest on top but when I share the folder all the files show the oldest on top.

Hey @kingston1979, thanks for checking in with us. Let's see what we can find.

At first, I'll just need a bit more info to make sure I have a better understanding of what you're seeing, such as:

  • Where are you sorting the content from - the website, the desktop app, or the mobile app?
  • Are you trying to set the sorting options to show newest first throughout your account or for other users as well?

Any additional info would be very helpful. Thanks!

Sorting options in a folder only apply to you. The other members of a shared folder can sort the files however they wish.

If you need the files to be sorted in a specific order, you'll need to rename the files so they get sorted alphabetically in whatever order you want, i.e. by adding numbers to the beginning of the file names. Or you can just tell the other members to sort by Modified Descending.
