My green check marks are gone from my files

My green check marks are gone from my files

Hello.

I have been using Dropbox for many, many years on a iMac (currently running Catalina).

One of the aspects I am very used to is seeing Green Chack Marks on my folders in the Dropbox folder in Finder.

For the first time, today they are all missing.

What does this mean?

Thank you in advance.

Lusil, thanks again for your assistance.

I have no idea what solved the issue but last night I checked the Dropbox folder and the green check marks have returned before following your instructions.

I will certainly make note of the steps mentioned in the post you share for guidance in the future in case this occurs again but for now, will leave things as they are working properly.

Thank you.

Hi there @aehir70, I'd be happy to help look into this with you!

It sounds like the desktop app isn't running, which is why you can't see the syncing icons.

In this case, go to your menu bar and see if you are able to locate the Dropbox icon.

If it's not there, it means that it is not running after all and you'll have to relaunch it from your applications menu.

Check it out and let me know what you find, cheers!

Hi Lusil.

Thank you for replying.

Will try to be as specific as possible and please be patient with me as I am not an expert.

I use MacOS; you mention "Menu Bar"

The Dropbox icon is always visible on the top-right hand corner of my screen, near the time, date, wi-fi, etc., etc.

If this is what you are referring to, I Quit the app from that location; the next step was logging-in again; the Green Check Marks are still not appearing.

I also selected "view sync issues" and no errors are reported.

Your suggestions?

Thank you.
