I was sent a link to access a shared folder with editing capabilities. I followed the link, which prompted me to create and account ... which I just did.
Now that I'm logged in, I see this message.
Can't I simply access the folder online without having to download the dropbox app on my computer? Do I have to upgrade my account to access the files?

In order to add a shared folder to your account, you need enough space in your account to hold the full content of the shared folder.
If you need edit access to the folder, you'll need to upgrade your account. If you just need to view and or download the content, ask the owner to send you a shared link instead.
