No syncing issues, yet I'm receiving 'can't sync files' notifications. Why?

I have been receiving notifications from my Dropbox for the past 4 days that "Couldn't sync files", asking me to sync issues for my files.  When I view, it says "no errors".

Why am I getting these notifications?

Hey @zelda paterson, thanks for joining our Community and happy Friday!

Do the error messages mention file names?

If so, can you take those files out of your Dropbox folder and put them back in, to see if that helps?

Same here.

The issue appeared a couple days ago, and I fixed the files (there were unsupported characters for windows in the filename).
But now I keep getting the notification and when I click it there are no sync issues.

Can you let us know the version of the app and the app's exact status as shown in your system tray?

Hi Walter,

 

The app is v132.3.3780. The status is "Up to date".

Oh, it seems that you're running a beta version of the app @gimmemoreice

Could you try installing the latest, stable version from this page and let me know if you notice any difference? 

Just make sure to toggle off the 'early releases' from your account's settings online first.

Hi, 

No, it does not say which files.  It only states that Dropbox cannot sync.

Would you mind checking the version of Dropbox you have installed as well?

You can check that by hovering your mouse over the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar.
