Not able to access sub-folder (can only view)

Not able to access sub-folder (can only view)

Hi everyone,

I am currently having troubles with accessing a subfolder within a folder. So, co-worker shared a subfolder within a folder that is shared with me, but due to the main folder being too large, I can't access it. Therefore, he simply shared the subfolder, but I can only view it and not edit. How would this be possible to fix?

Best,
Chris

He's not shared it with you 🙂 he has sent you a read only link. Thats because you cannot share a subfolder of an already shared folder.

So, to do what you want you need to get him to totally and utterly unshare the parent folder and then reshare JUST the subfolder.

Mark, I have the same problem. Accept I'm trying to share the parent folder. Why can't the person i'm trying to share it to make changes within the parent folder?

Hey there @Markfoxwv; I'm sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify if they're getting a specific error or if they're just unable to access the folder's content?

Can you also walk us through the steps you took to share this folder in the first place?

Can both of you see this folder on our website?
