Original file location

I had 2 DropBox accounts, which contained folders shared by a team leader.   The one account had all the files available from this leader, and I added a few and left the others to work with later.    My account had issues and it was deleted (many years ago).  I thought the account was my other account, which didn't have important files in it and I allowed it to be deleted.

My 2nd account had a few of the folders added, but not all of them.   I have long since misplaced the orignial location of folders, where I got them from.    Is there a way to tell from the folders I have, where they originally came from?   I would like to get the other folders back.    They contained pictures and videos of my kids from a dance competition.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi @TLC72

Not sure what you mean. I think it is this but if it isnt shout.... if the folders were a share you can go to www.dropbox.com/share and click on the three ...'s to the right of the screen, then share and it will tell you who else is in the share. That may give you some clues.

HOWEVER as you said your other account was deleted and its been some years since you used it then it is almost a certainty that the other account no longer exists. This is for 2 reasons - deleted accounts are immediately none recoverable and secondly Dropbox auto purges inactive ones after 12 months.
