Out of space message

Helpful | Level 5

I have a free Dropbox account that I occasionally use with large files.  For the past couple of months, I am getting a pop-up message that my DB is out of space and trying to get me to upgrade to a larger account.  I have deleted virtually everything from my Dropbox and the message keeps popping up on my desktop computer regularly.  How can I get rid of this?  Thank you.

Hi @Moffett,

How exactly your available account capacity gets spread around? Take a look here, on "Personal Dropbox space" diagram, how much space is unused? Isn't "Shared files" value too large?

Hope this gives direction for figuring the issue out.

Dropboxer

Hi @Moffett, thanks for providing these details!

Could you check where the quota is being used up according to this page, is it on your private or shared files?

You can calculate the size of files and folders on your account using these steps to see where the space is being used.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know!
