PC Backup and Desktop/Downloads Files not able to access

New member | Level 2

I uninstalled Dropbox from my PC and it had desktop backup on. When I deleted it, it deleted everything from the desktop and downloads folders. What do I do? I also can't access the desktop or put anything there

Hey there @Todo43; welcome to the Dropbox Community!

Based on your description, I'm assuming that you didn't disable the computer backup feature upon uninstalling the desktop app from your computer; correct me if I'm wrong please.

If that's the case indeed, could you let me know if you're getting a specific error when trying to access your files?

Assuming that you can't find them in their original locations or the recycle bin, can you find any of the files in your deleted files page or your events page?

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there.

Hi,

I tried to disable the computer backup feature but it seems that it continued to backup anyway. I was uninstalling because I had no space left in dropbox.

They are not in the recycling bin nor the deleted files This is the image of the error that it gives me when opening files or when I try to access my desktop and downloadsScreenshot 2020-10-27 085012.png

Thanks for the screenshot @Todo43.

Can you clarify if you have the app installed on your computer at the moment?
