Paper document Calendar linking functionality?

Explorer | Level 3

What is Paper calendar linking for?  How is it supposed to function?

Finally got it setup, but it does not seem to do anything useful¿  Background follows:

Linking calendars to Paper documents, seemed like a feature that would be useful.  We have setup long, detailed checklists in Paper to manage architectural projects.  Linking time sensitive tasks to our office calendar would be usefuI.  We do our calendar sharing through iCloud (free, secure and a breeze to setup, except on Windows, but doable).  Dropbox calendar linking only supports Google and Office/Microsoft 365 calendars, so I spent close to 3 hours figuring out how to setup a calendar in Microsoft 365, configuring it and connecting to the calender on client Macs (the most frustrating part).

Finally was able to select + Link a calendar event in Paper document and make a link (after running into several issues that were never mentioned).  After all that effort, I got a list of some calendar events at the top of the document, showing Event Title and Date only (no time or other information).  The calendar events don't display any other kind of linking in Paper or Outlook or Apple Calendar (logged into same Outlook calender in that).

So what is the calendar linking feature good for?

Re: Paper document Calendar linking functionality?

Hey @davlab, thanks for checking in with us.

In general, by connecting your Google or Outlook calendar to your Dropbox account, you should be able to view/join upcoming meetings, and attach files to them from your desktop.

You can find more info regarding this in this article and this one

In any case, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback on this.

I'll also leave this thread open for any other users who'd like to share their experience on adding their calendars to their Paper docs.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions, just give us a nudge. Cheers!
