Paper won't open in Firefox

New member | Level 2

Hello,

A friend sent me a link to a Dropbox paper. The link, however, won't open in Firefox 67.0.4 (Windows 10). I am permanently stuck on the screen with the cartoon of a flag and the words "opening the document (document name) belonging to the user (username). The link works fine in IE. What can I do?

Edit: I noticed the paper opens when I copy the link and paste it into a private browsing window. But when I log in from this window to edit the paper, again I'm back to the screen I described above.

Hey there @mmoni - sorry to hear about this.

Can you first clear your browser's cache and try again?

If the issue persists, please try a private browsing window with no extensions or plugins running.

Let me know how these suggestions work out for you and we'll take it from there.

Thank you!

Hello Walter,

Clearing cache didn't help. As I wrote in my previous post, the link does open in a private browsing window. But when I try to log in from this private browsing window in order to edit the paper, I go back to square one.

Thanks for the additional information @mmoni - most appreciated!

At this point, I'd suggest using another browser such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge while making sure they're updated as well as our website works best on the two most recent versions of:

Last but not least, does this happen for only a specific Paper doc, some or all? Do you have comment or edit rights on this doc?

Any additional information will be much appreciated!
