Permissions between users of the same account

Explorer | Level 4

Hello guys,

At the moment my Dropbox Plus account is used by different workstations.

I was wondering if it is possible to manage the folders viewed by each workstation even tho they share the same account.

Thanks.

Hey @Saumur, thanks for reaching out to us.

You can have have different folders being locally available on each computer by using selective sync.

You can find more information about it, here

I hope this helps!

One thing I was wondering in order to improve this function.

Is it possible to "lock" the selective sync in the workstations?

Otherwise an user would have the option to revert it back and see all the files with no authorization.

Thanks

As the Dropbox Plus plan is more of an individual and not a team one, I'm afraid there's no way to lock any of the desktop app's settings on your computers @Saumur.

If you're working on an account with multiple users, you may want to consider upgrading to a Dropbox for Business Teams plan.

On a side note, for security reasons, sharing an account with others is not recommended. Sharing your Dropbox password with others also violates the Dropbox Terms of Service

I hope this clarifies matters and please let us know if you have any more questions.
