For me the DropBox is a useful and important part of my professional computer use. But the number of overlay icons and the absence of any possibility to deactivate them is a big problem for me. As I could read in the web, it is the same problem for other software developers.
There are only 15 slots for overlay icons in Windows. To take nearly all of them for your software regardless of the needs of the computer owner is a quite bad UX in my opinion.
What have I done bad to you that you do not allow me to control the sparse system capabilities in a way I need them? For me and probably the most DropBox users it's just the DropBox folder which is synced. And there are better ways to inform about syncing problems. Better use messages, not overlay icons! There are some other tools (like TortoiseGit etc.) which are more important for me to control overlay icons.
Please: Tell me a way (can be something weird in the registry editor) to disable all or some of the DropBox overlay icons!
Please! This is the most annyoing point in an otherwise very good software!
