'Plus' Shared Link Control - is that what I already have on the basic/free plan?

I am considering upgrading to the Plus plan (currently on the basic/free plan), however, I noticed that 'Shared Link Controls' are not included as part of the Plus plan.

On my free/basic plan, I can create links that share files/folders and control whether they are read-only or full-write access etc. Is that what Shared Link Control is? Or is it something more?

I'm assuming it's something more since it seems illogical that anyone would pay to get a downgrade in services?

Hey @Tobtoh, I’ll do my best to address your inquiry!

Shared links give view-only access to your Dropbox files to your colleagues regardless of the plan that’s attached to your account.

With shared link controls, you should be able to add a password, set an expiration date or disable downloads for a shared link. The feature is currently available to Dropbox Professional and Business users, however recipients won't be able to edit the original file in any way.

I’d suggest checking our Plans page to find what suits you best depending on your current needs/budget.

I’m always here if you have more questions for me!
