Problem accessing files through Desktop App alert "the file couldn't be opened"

Hi hoping someone can help me with this problem I have.

 

I am accessing DB through desktop App however on certain files I receive this alert "the file.....couldn't be opened because you dont have permission to view it".

I have looked online and followed instructions to change permissions but it's not made a difference. It doesn't happen on all files just some.

Hi @RFallows, thanks for posting on the Community!

Are these files located in a certain location on your device, or randomly located? 

Are you on a paid plan, and do you use Smart Sync? Are the files you're trying to open local or online-only files?
