Problem with your Search feature

I have been using the search feature (engine) of dropbox for almost 4 months requesting a great number of files, and it has worked flawlessly until October 13, when 3 files among a group of files with the same date, did not appear. I had to get to them mannually.

Files with a date after October 13 did show up, but again this 3 files did not. I tried evry imaginable combinations of names and of no avail. I am totally mistified and puzzled about the "WHY." I hope dropbox or somebody can give me an answer.

Just to make sure that we're on the same page, are you using the website or the desktop app to search?

 

Are these three files personal/normal files, or were they shared with you?

Dear Lucil,

I have been using your Website in my desktop.

I have several professionals working for me who prepare Reports and uploading them into your websiite.

I review them, print  them and fax them to a third party for final review and approval. These files are not my personal files but business files.

 ddLike I stated in my original inquire, for several months this process ha been flawless, but on October 13 only, 3 files out of about 10, did not appear when I clicked your Search option, after trying numerous words combinations. I had to manually find them which I did.

The other October 13 files and files of a later date were found thru the Search key.

This is a mystery to me that I cannot explain lgically. What is the answer ?

HI there @Art6; I'm sorry to jump in here.

 

Could you clarify if you were using a specific browser when you encountered this? Did you try another one to see if you get any different results? 

 

If this is still happening, can you clear your browser's cache and let us know how it goes?

Hi Walter,

I only use Google which has worked for me almost all the time, I could try another browser, but in my overall ignorance, I suspect that the problem has something to do with your website, who knows, maybe your internal software tha regulates the Search feature was out for a short period of time, while this 3 Reports were being uploaded ?

Hi @Art6, could you clarify if the files are located in a shared folder? Are the files possibly stored inside a zip file?

 

Any screenshots would be helpful!
