The option to publish a document ended last year and @daghenning @SarthakJain @lukeyo were told by @Walter that it was beta, and turned off
https/www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Discuss-Dropbox-Paper/Publish-paper-document/m-p/362057#M244
It has now returned to my docs.
I've posted a ticked to asked whether it will stay, but received no reply after a week. Anyone know what's happening?
It is not showing up for me...
Sorry not to be more helpful, and of course DB will not generally discuss upcoming features.
Thanks - @lukeyoz
Support has now responded directly saying
"We’ve turned off a feature that lets you Publish a Paper doc as a link. We launched this feature as an experiment to make it easier for Paper users to publish/share content of a doc and have turned it off.
"We wanted to thank everyone who provided early feedback on this feature. Your feedback will be a huge help as we continue to develop on the feature.
"Note that you can still share a Paper Doc by using the Share option. You can also use the Share option to create a link to a Paper doc if you want —you’ll just no longer see the option to Publish a Paper doc."
However Publish still appears for me, and creates a link. I can't see share
I'll explore further!
Thanks for response
Hey there @davidwilcox!
Would you mind sharing your ticket number (eg. #1234567) with me, for the communication you had with our Support team for this? This will just allow me to check on this from my side too.
Cheers!

I think we have a solution - and it would be great if you could review and confirm advice back here
David
Thanks for that @davidwilcox, that's great to hear!
I can see that you're speaking with one of our specialists, so there wouldn't be anything further that I could add that they haven't already covered.
If you have any other questions about this, it would be best to get back to my colleague via email.
Sorry that I can't be of much more help with this, but don't hesitate to give me another nudge if you need help with anything else.
Hope you have a great rest of your day David!

Here's the advice I got from support, which I found works. In practice the Publish button may be gone (or go), but Invite - share will do that same thing. Hope that's the same in the 2020 version

The published likes you have will continue to be published links. I am actually surprised you still have the option to publish, since that feature has been discontinued, however, it looks like it's just not being rolled out to any new users.
If the publish button is no longer visible, you are about to create a link for a non-Dropbox user to view. To do this, you would need to do the following:
To test this, you can open an incognito or private browser. Then, you can visit the link you copied to know what the view will look like for people who are not signed into Dropbox.
The way we work is changing. Share and discover new ways to work smarter with Dropbox in our community.
